So Here We Are

September 29, 2008    6:17 am

We’ve now reached the end of Medieval Experiment, our longest storyline to date. Because of this and many other factors, chief among them being that Dave’s writing has just simply not been happening for several months now, we are placing Reality Experiment on administrative hiatus until at least January 1, 2009. Dave has made it pretty clear that he doesn’t think he’ll be coming back to the project, so it will be up to Patrick and I to determine whether or not we can come up with the necessary material to keep this thing running. If so, fantastic. If not, then we’ll pull the plug on this project as gracefully as possible and move on.

If Reality Experiment itself does not continue forward as a comic, there are other things that may happen. I’m not really at liberty to discuss them right now, as nothing is finalized, but the hope is that we will not have to let this website fall away. We’ve invested a lot of ourselves (myself in particular) into this site for quite some time now, and it’s going to be difficult at best to just let it fall into obscurity.  Well, more obscurity, anyway.

So thank you all for your support, and check in from time to time (if you’re still interested, that is) as an update may come when you least expect it… but honestly, don’t expect anything before the first of the year.

Thank you, and goodnight.

Temptation

September 22, 2008    6:20 am

So, I put the comment on the comic, but I feel it deserves a front page mention as well.

There is only one comic left in the Medieval Experiment storyline. Just one. After that, Reality Experiment will be going on hiatus until January, 2009. There are several reasons for this, but above all, the fact is that I’ve been both writing and drawing this comic for the past few months, and while I really enjoy everything we’ve done to date and it’s been a great experience, this is not the project I would have chosen for myself if I was doing something alone. This is a collaborative project. So we’re going to give Dave some time to sort out his creativity; and if he’s unable to do so, Patrick and I are going to attempt to continue on.

So we’ll see how that goes. Tune in on Thursday for the conclusion!

Whoopsie-doodle…

So, I forgot to put up the comic this morning.

On the bright side, I actually did one, and it’s up now. Artist powers a-go-go!

What a Crazy Week!

September 10, 2008    7:59 pm

So, this week has been really insane, including several extra-curricular work-related functions, planning for Zoe’s birthday on Sunday, and also trying to adjust to new classes worth of schoolwork.

Between all of those things, it has prevented me from doing a comic for tomorrow. So there will be a short break, and we’ll resume with the end of the Medieval Experiment storyline on Monday.

Thanks for your understanding.

Showdown

Well, Spore came out yesterday, and Dave probably has a good idea of what it’s like at this point. I won’t for another week or so, but when I do, I promise to let you know.

I am, however, currently playing Jade Empire (yeah, I know, behind the times) which is an action/RPG created by the masters of the computer role-playing-game, Bioware. I picked it up because I had been interested in it for quite some time, but had never really gotten a chance to play it. It’s really quite incredibly done. Combat is smooth and fluid, and just the right amount of challenge without being too hard. There’s really no way to get through it by button-mashing… you have to actually pay attention to the strategy and keep moving if you hope to survive.

So, we’ll have to see where that takes me. If it continues to be interesting, I might actually play it to the finish. I doubt that’s very likely though… I tend to really like the intros to these games, and then give up on them once they start to drag in the middle.
